So, you're a hot-shot marketer working for a brand agency. You love what you do, but just want the opportunity to make the shift client side and become the one calling the shots.

You want to be the one creating the brief, not just responding to it. You crave the chance to own the brand - to live and breathe it. Build it, make it tangible and protect it. Yours to shape, to tell the story about, and ensure it's being used correctly at all consumer touchpoints.

Welcome to that opportunity!

THE ROLE

Joining the ranks of one of the UK's biggest retailers, your remit, as the Senior Brand Strategy Manager, will be to own all aspects of one of the corporation's biggest consumer facing programmes.

Tens of millions of consumers interact with and use this programme every week, and not just through this one retailer. It's a coalition programme which combines multiple retailers and service providers.

You will be looking after all consumer facing aspects of the brand, across every channel. Ensuring consistency of the brand across all touchpoints. This will include all customer marketing activity and new propositions in development, so they keep within brand guidelines and follow correct creative strategy.

You're going to have the support of 2 agencies, one to cover brand strategy projects, the other more creative development. It will be your remit to own those relationships and ensure best ways of working in order to get best results.

You will be joining a team of 10 and have 2 direct reports in the form of Snr Marketing Executives. Those executives will be responsible for overseeing delivery and execution of campaigns and managing projects, whilst you remain looking at the bigger picture and handling the strategic agenda. Your report line will be to the unit Director.

On the horizon is a brand re-fresh programme. Taking on this role will see you take up a pivotal and influential position in that project. Helping to shape the future of what the company's brand is, what it stands for and how it will be activated successfully.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Own brand strategy, brand development and brand guardianship across all consumer touchpoints which will include CRM, digital, campaigns and social media
  • Define strategic directions of campaigns - Audience definition and Media strategy - notably key segments and target groups, to ensure campaigns are reaching and resonating with the appropriate customers and delivering ROI
  • Build campaign propositions, working with the strategic brand agency, developing the creative proposition and taking them to internal stakeholders across the business to establish buy-in to campaigns pre-go live
  • Be the campaign lead, overseeing (but not hands on with) delivery
  • Establish measurement framework - e.g. brand trackers, awareness trackers, uptake metrics of campaign offers, incremental revenue. Etc. and can use these insightfully to improve future results
  • Coach, mentor and develop your team of marketers

Role: Senior Brand Strategy Manager

Location: Central London

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000

Benefits: 20% bonus, pension, healthcare, life assurance, etc.

Experience Required:

  • Brand Marketing / Brand Strategy background, preferably established in an agency or brand consultancy organisation - although end brand owner/client side is relevant too
  • If you've worked with retail clients/brands before, that would be highly beneficial but not necessarily essential
  • Your brand experience is principally consumer focused and aligned
  • You've got an excellent understanding of the creative development process for brand strategy
  • Good experience in brand building activity
  • Good knowledge of campaign strategy - how to take a comms strategy and combine it with content strategy to ensure they're aligned
  • Good knowledge of how to measure performance and utilise those measures to improve results
  • Able to demonstrate where you've taken learnings from previous campaigns and applied them to improve future activity
  • You intrinsically know how to get the best out of a brand - how to build it, protect it, activate it, etc.

**Must have the necessary visas to live and work in the UK**
