Job type: Permanent
Business sector: B2C

Category: Research and Analytics Jobs

If you're looking for an opportunity with scope to make your own mark, not just settle into someone else's shoes, this role will have you on the right track.

One of the big guns in consumer media and phone services has put their thinking shoes on to create a new arm to their existing business intelligence function. You will be stepping in as the lead for this particular area, taking over what's currently something of a minimum viable product, but with the scope and roadmap for a much bigger automated capability that needs building to service the need of their marketing, commercial and customer units.

The unit you will be leading will be the Customer Value Analytics team. Responsible for understanding the business' need for insight and commercial measures including things like ARPU (average revenue per user), CLV (Customer lifetime value), the effect of things like activation fees on proposition sales and customer value and lots more.

For this programme of work they really need you to be someone who knows your way around setting up a reporting capability. Defining and shaping stakeholder needs, turning those needs into development team briefs and taking what they create and turning into an automated reporting solution for stakeholders to be able to draw down and self-serve with.

This means you will need to have not only the necessary understanding of how to define reporting needs and add value to stakeholder thinking, but also have the right project management and problem solving skills, coupled with a clear understanding of what makes a good, simple, engaging automated report too.

Your key stakeholders will be senior business leaders, Director and executive leadership, who all have a real interest in this insight, since it's a new piece for the business which hasn't existed before and they all recognise they can get real value from. So as the lead for this area, you will be getting a lot of exposure to the right people in order to really impress where it counts.

About the company

They're one of the UK's biggest employers and a household name in the telecoms and media market. Their data and insight function provides the business with critical understanding about their customers across all consumer product sets. They typically analyse behavioural patterns and usage data. Looking for key trends and killer insights which can help shape products, propositions, all customer marketing efforts, their ecommerce capabilities, digital service offerings and also where the business is investing in order to innovate.

This unit has also been responsible for shaping multi-billion pound investment strategies. So you can find your work having a significant material impact on the success of the firm.
