Description

We are looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our Compliance Department, within this role you will be responsible for:

* To
take responsibility for providing expert and highly effective second line
advice, guidance, support and challenge on all regulatory matters relating to
the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority under
the FSMA 2000 and related legal requirements.

* Contribute
to the overall compliance and performance of AXA PPP healthcare and its
subsidiaries (the "Business")
and play a major role in ensuring compliance with the regulations.
* To
provide regulatory advice, guidance and challenge to specified areas of the
Business negotiating appropriate solutions to any apparent challenges and
supporting development of first line regulatory knowledge.
* To
support the AXA PPP Head of Compliance ("HOC") in the maintenance of the compliance strategy and ensuring
appropriate regulatory standards, approaches and policies are adopted within
the Business.
* Work
closely with the HOC to support the AXA PPP Executive management team and
Non-Executives to drive the compliance agenda and culture across the Business
and provide assurance to the relevant Boards and Senior Management as to the
levels of compliance across the Business to ensure that they are adequately
informed of the relevant regulatory risks and issues faced.

Your key accountabilities will include:

* To
support the HOC in the management and oversight of the Compliance function and,
together with local compliance resource, to provide a ‘business partner’
compliance service to the Business as part of a transversal AXA UK Compliance
and Regulatory function
* Work
with the HOC to ensure that the AXA PPP Compliance team operates as an
effective team within the transversal AXA UK Compliance and Regulatory function
to ensure a ‘one AXA’ approach to Compliance and Regulation;
* To
ensure that the Business is aware of AXA UK & Group compliance/regulatory standards
and policies to be adopted across the Business including working with
transversal colleagues to cooperate and provide stakeholder support to those
responsible for the implementation of policies relating to Financial Crime and
Data Privacy in line with relevant regulations.
* To
provide challenge and a voice in relation to ethics, integrity and the customer
in relation to the Business activities.
* To
support the HOC in ensuring the adequacy of the appropriate provision of expert
advice and support to the Businesses relevant first line in relation to governance
and regulation to enable them to understand and meet their regulatory
obligations.
* To
ensure the adequacy of the compliance activity within the Business and advising
on the appropriate implementation of the minimum standards required (including
the implementation of compliance internal standards).
* Support
the HOC to coordinate with the Group Senior Regulatory Development Manager to ensure
that the Business is aware of key regulatory and legislative developments
impacting the Business.
* Assist
the HOC in supporting the Group Senior Regulatory Development Manager to actively
participate in key industry forums and lobbying activity ensuring the Business
and the AXA UK Group’s interests are protected and aligned on a consistent ‘one
AXA’ basis.
* Assist
the HOC to support the UK Head of Regulatory and Compliance in relation to the
AXA UK Group’s relationship with the PRA and FCA ensuring timely and quality
responses are provided to AXA UK to ensure the expectations of the regulators are
consistently met.
* Interact
with the UK and AXA PPP Risk functions to ensure regulatory controls
environment and control activities are sufficient for Conduct and Compliance risk by supporting the
HOC in leading the Compliance and Regulatory input on the design and
development of regulatory risk management frameworks and risk management
practices.
* To
support and advise the relevant Senior Management Team of the various Businesses
to ensure they are fully conversant and compliant with current and potential
regulatory requirements to enable them to make appropriate and timely strategic
decisions and understand their own individual responsibilities and
accountabilities.
* Support
the HOC to ensure that the Head of UK Group Regulatory and Compliance is
provided with sufficient reporting information to enable him/her to support and
advise the UK Board, Audit Committee and Senior Leadership Group of regulatory
and compliance risks within the AXA PPP business.
* To
influence business direction by providing regulatory insights and trends and to
provide challenge where the levels of regulatory risk exposure are unacceptable
to enable Senior Management to make effective and informed risk based
decisions.
* Ensure
appropriate reporting of compliance and regulatory matters to the Businesses boards
and committees and identify, report and escalate regulatory risk exposures to
Senior Management on a timely basis.
* Appropriate
attendance/member at the Businesses boards, Risk and Executive Committees as
required, to provide assurance as to the levels of compliance and advise of key
regulatory risks, issues and areas of exposure.
* To support the HOC in ensuring
that AXA PPP Compliance staff are appropriately managed and developed and that
the function is resourced with appropriately skilled and motivated people.
* Development of the Compliance teams skills and
abilities by facilitating the sharing of best practice and knowledge.

Qualifications

* Experienced
Compliance professional with good knowledge of applicable regulation and
legislation.
* Detailed
knowledge of financial services industry, regulation, operating practices
and technology
* Excellent
oral/written communication, planning, project management, networking and
influencing skills
* Strong
experience of working in a cross-functional environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management, relationship
building and influencing skills at senior management level
