Are you seeking a bit more variety than just working with one business on one set of problems?

Perhaps things are beginning to feel like Groundhog Day, as there isn't anything new to get to grips with anymore?

Do you enjoy getting away from the computer and engaging with stakeholders, so would ideally like a position with a bit more client engagement as part of the mix?

We might have the solution with this career opportunity…

About the Position

We're hiring on behalf of a Data Consultancy, looking to appoint a Senior Data Engineer to join their London site.

The focus of this role is more towards front end development, working specifically with marketing tech stacks, rather than the ingesting of data, back end side of things. Your bias, when taking on this role, will be towards shaping data, making it usable and relevant for a team of data scientists to work with.

You'd become the technical authority and client engagement lead for London (or surrounding area) clients. Be the subject matter expert for anything related to their data engineering projects.

At the moment, the bias of projects in the short to mid-term will be front end based. However in the longer-term these will be evolving into back-end projects too. So you can expect this role to evolve over time as the company embeds further with clients and takes on these other aspects too.

Their database solutions look to resolve a variety of issue for clients, including:

  • Pricing analytics and strategies - taking complex, multi-source data and bringing it together into an environment which makes it minable and manageable
  • Building reporting solutions, the data feeds that populate them, ensuring feeds work, designing the dashboards
  • Building the data platforms which help establish new digital analytics and eCRM capabilities for companies, driving enhanced personalisation, trigger-based actions and connecting channels effectively to give joined up journeys
  • Data capture, store and mining for marketing attribution programmes

About the Company

This consultancy specialises in Big Data solutions - both the engineer and build of new solutions (data engineering teams) and the analysis of (data science teams), working with Cloud based tech stacks and in an Agile methodology.

Their London office is principally staffed by Data Scientists, with you as the Data Engineering lead. They have another UK office which principally houses their Data Engineering talent, and you will be responsible for articulating client requirements to this team, identifying what is and isn't important, setting proprieties and ensuring delivery is met.

The bulk of their client base is in London, so your time will be spent both in office and on client site. All travel will be expensed, and there is some travel required to visit their Scotland office from time to time too. This is mainly for cross-collaboration projects and various meetings.

Because the firm is growing, they've been investing in their people and culture to build and engaged workforce who really enjoy what they do, and the environment reflects a positive dynamic with plenty of learning and growth potential.

They are a 'tool/tech agnostic' consultancy - which means they won't push one tech stack or analytics tool over another with a client. It's all about which one is best to realise the result the client is looking for.

This also means you will have plenty of opportunity to learn new tools and technology in role too. But also worth mentioning the business will therefore be looking for someone who has a naturally curious mindset and is really keen to learn new things.

If this sounds like the kind of place you'd be keen to become a part of, why not apply using the links below.
