As one of two Senior Digital Insight Managers, you will report to the Head of Digital Insight & Strategy, and help us fulfil our team purpose of driving a customer-centric, evidence-driven and forward-looking digital culture at Virgin Media.

You will provide the leadership, coaching and development for a team of inquisitive analysts, who are embedded in agile journey squads providing full-service insight from analysing journeys to identify opportunities to improve them, through to proving the benefits via rigourous A/B testing.

Principle responsibilities:

Line management team of digital insight analysts, ensuring highest standards of analytics and influence, championing the four levels of insight:

• ‘What?’ - Accurate, complete and efficient data, reporting & testing - supported by water-tight analytics & testing implementation and tagging
• ‘Why?’ - Inquisitive, robust, hypotheses-driven analysis of multiple sources of data, with a focus on digital and omnichannel journey flows and continuance to identity opportunities to improve the digital experience, and learnings on why experiments do and don’t succeed
• ‘So What?’ - Incisive understanding of commercial implications and consumer context in order to interpret the data appropriately and make recommendations
• ‘Now What?’ - Influence to drive action and ultimately to realise benefits

Partnering with Heads of Department and Senior Product Managers to ensure agile journey squads are insight-driven, and adequately supported according to changing needs.

Ensuring analytics findings are coordinated with research insight to make holistic and strategic insight recommendations to drive improved online journeys.

Collaborating with senior stakeholders in Customer Experience, Online Sales, Marketing and Commercial to meet their insight needs and to ensure relevant digital insight is understood and actioned across the business.

Ensure VM’s digital analytics toolkit is optimal and offers VFM by managing relationship with suppliers and keeping up to date with industry trends, and ensure VM’s evolving digital analytics technical requirements are met by both VM technical teams and LG Analytics in terms of Adobe configuration, implementation and data integrity.

Required critical competencies and behaviours:

• Ability to work with low supervision and to set direction for team – will be true Subject Matter Expert
• Good communication, including the ability to translate technical and/or methodological issues into plain terms and commercial opportunities or risks
• Team player – work well with colleagues, contributing to overall aims of Digital Insight and Digital department as a whole.
• Insatiable curiosity about consumers – and what makes people behave the way they do
• Comfortable challenging the status quo, operating in an iterative/agile environment, and willing to fail fast and learn quickly.
• Ability to manage situations of complexity / conflict / paradox with positive outcomes.

Required key skills (functional / technical):

• Advanced skills in Adobe Analytics (implementation and analytics) required
• Ability to take data and turn it into insight – and recommendations for action
• Ability to communicate persuasively and influence senior stakeholders effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a high pressure, sometimes regulated, environment.
• Brilliant people leadership and line management
• Relationship-building skills – and ability to gain influence with key stakeholders in order to drive data-driven decisions.
• Innovative thinking – ability to think around an issue and solve problems.
• Strong negotiation skills at a senior level, both internally within Virgin Media and externally amongst agency groups and key interfaces.

Required qualifications/experience:

• Degree in a numerical subject preferred
• Experience in a similar role, with a track record delivering actionable insight essential
• Line management experience required
• Experience successfully managing varied and demanding stakeholders essential
• Extensive experienced in use of the Adobe Marketing Cloud, especially Adobe Analytics (formerly Omniture) required
• Analytics programmes such as SQL, R, Python required
• Experience with A/B and MV testing preferable
• Experience with Adobe Data Workbench preferable
• Knowledge of tag management platforms, such as Tealium, preferable
