Job description

Job Context

This role reports to the Senior Finance Manager - FP&A and supports the delivery and clear articulation of the margin performance through month end, forecasts and budgeting. This role will work cross functionally with finance and non-finance managers to build the margin plan, with the identification of risk and opportunities. Understanding of the performance drivers and issues of the relevant margin areas are a key responsibility, with these clearly explained through appropriate mediums of communication.

The role is responsible for providing effective commercial & financial support, along with challenge & direction to the assigned area in the business in order to ensure performance is at the optimum level. The role also manages the relevant financials for the assigned area and analyses the market to proactively identify any risks and/or opportunities.

Roles & Responsibilities

Supports small internal customers to ensure their needs are met and/or helps senior colleagues manage client relationships.

Data Collection & Analysis
Conducts research using primary data sources and selects relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends.

Data Management
Delivers prescribed outcomes by working as directed within established data management systems and procedures. Utilises data available to generate relevant business insight and contextualise financial performance.

Financial Management & Control
Delivers prescribed outcomes for a designated area of financial control by working within established systems.

Executes a communications plan by working within established internal communication systems and procedures.

Policy Development & Implementation
Provides input into the development of procedures for an area within the organization, then monitors the implementation of those procedures.

Costing and Budgeting
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently on costing, budgeting and finance tasks while providing guidance and training to others.

Works without supervision and provides technical guidance when required on achieving full compliance with applicable rules and regulations in management and/or operations.

Works with guidance (but not constant supervision) to analyze data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.

University (Degree)

Managerial Experience


Additional Information
Must have experience and skills:

* CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified.

* Excellent MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.

* Experience of interfacing with commercial teams.

* Report writing and presenting to a senior management audience.

* Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.

* Ability to operate in a demand led, rapid change environment.
