We usually deliver up to 70 audits every year, which means you could be leading two to three audits at any one time. There’ll be lots of talking, listening, fact finding, delivering reports and coaching Audit colleagues. In this role, you’ll get to see every part of the diverse Skipton Group.
Although you’ll be based in Skipton, up to 30 per cent of your time could be spent away from home, but usually for spells of no longer than two working weeks at a time. In return you’ll get an overnight allowance of £70 in addition to travel and subsistence expenses while you’re away, with the chance to enjoy various destinations across the UK, Guernsey and occasional visits to our partner offices in New Zealand.
On a typical day you’ll be meeting with a variety of stakeholders ranging from customer advisers to the CEO. And once you’ve found your feet you’ll be leading and coaching newer members who join the team.
Ideally you will have a professional qualification (such as IIA, ACA ,ACCA or CISA) and experience in financial services prudential audit. You will have a strong academic background and are likely to be educated to degree level.
We are looking for people who have experience of delivering either conduct or prudential risk focused audits. You therefore should have a sound knowledge of financial services regulation and have a strong motivation to keep up to date in this continually changing field.
You’ll be used to juggling a few audits at once, with the ability to provide constructive challenge if you see something’s not right - so you’ll need to be a great communicator who’s resilient, calm, composed and motivated to get the job done, with an ability to stand your own ground when the need arises.
