We have an opportunity for a Senior Quantitative Analyst to join our Financial Crime Compliance area in London.

A very strong in depth knowledge and practical experience of designing, developing and implementing models is a requirement. An expert knowledge of Python and/or R is a priority. Knowledge and experience using HTML or Javascript visualisation packages is an advantage.

You will also be expected to manage a small sub-team and to represent the team leader in working groups, as well as to produce and manage model documentation and interact with stakeholders. This is a 70% hands-on 30% management role.

As a Senior Quantitative Analyst your main responsibilities will be

* The role is to join a small and focused technically minded quantitative team.

* The team is tasked with a number of functions in relation to the analysis of data to detect potential financial crime.

* This role is to design and build models for the detection of financial crime risk, as well as to lead a sub-team (to be built) of other analysts.

* You will be expected to have a very strong understanding of machine learning techniques, and the use of appropriate analytical models to achieve the desired outcomes.

* This role will report into the head of the global regulatory quant team and will be required to deliver outputs in relation to financial crime risks as defined.

* The role will also be expected to produce and manage model documentation.

* Interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum skills and experience required

* High level degree in a scientific/numerical discipline (Master’s, PhD is an advantage) and an interest in statistics, Bayesian and/or Frequentist.

* Significant practical experience in modelling data in R and Python, with an ability to pick up new languages quickly.

* Strong knowledge of designing and managing SQL databases and an understanding of the steps required in cleaning and transforming datasets.

* Knowledge of both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.

* Significant experience of data modelling using R and/or Python and experience in design and implementation of functioning production data models.

* In depth knowledge of data base systems and query languages such as SQL.
