35 hours per week full time but willing to consider flexibility

About the role:

This is a newly created role and you will join the team at an exciting and critical time. Our Client is seeking a creative and experienced Service Designer to join them and play an important role in transforming the organisation's digital proposition.

Millions of people are locked in poverty in the UK; they don’t believe that’s right. That’s why they’ve made it their mission to solve it. Our Client’s new strategy is to work alongside others to build public and political will for change and demand for solutions.

Joining them on their mission to inspire action and change to solve UK poverty, you will become part of an organisation that’s embracing matrix working, technology, innovation, digital and design thinking to modernise what they do and how they do it.

Creating meaningful experiences through user-centred design and problem-solving will be at the heart of your work as they transform their organisation and the experience of their users.

About you:

They are looking for someone with huge enthusiasm for what they do, who can engage in their mission and purpose. Their ideal candidate will not only be passionate about user-centred design, but also highly collaborative working across the business so that they use expertise and resources to maximum effect.

You will be experienced at identifying opportunities to improve an existing service and will establish new service patterns and standards. You will be able to turn insight into action and demonstrate how to remove complexity from services.

Excellent communication skills are key as you will need to be able to explain ideas in a way that other people understand and engage the whole team in the design process. Above all, you be able to interpret user research and develop designs based on evidence of user needs and our organisational outcomes.

About us:

Our Client is a social change organisation with a 100-year history. They are built on trust, show they care, and exist to make a difference.

They work with others to put forward sector-leading research, evidence, solutions and stories to the UK’s influencers and decision-makers.

They believe that a prosperous poverty-free UK is within reach - they just need more people to believe it too.

To make their vision a reality they need talent, ideas, skills and passion, plus they need to change some of what they do and how they do it. So, they’re embarking on a significant period of change - change that will see them become an outcomes-focused organisation that embraces new ways of working and modern practices.

If you share their passion, then they need to hear from you.

Closing date for applications is Monday 18 February 2019

In support of their approach to flexible working they are happy to receive applications from those seeking full time employment, as well as those who may want to share the role on a part time basis.

When making your application, please state whether you want to be considered for either full or part time work and, if part time, the number of hours per week you would be looking for.

Our commitment to diversity:

They are committed to creating opportunities for under-represented groups. Black Asian minority ethnic groups and those with a declared disability are under-represented in the organisation and are positively encouraged to apply. They shall apply Section 159 of the Equalities Act 2010 in the recruitment process.
