Overall Job Purpose

To work as a key member of the marketing team with overall management and implementation of all digital communications for River Street Events Portfolio including: BBC Good Food Shows, BBC Gardener’s World Live and Historical Royal Palace Food Festivals with a specific focus on Social Media, Website management and email communications.


1. Manage all social media channels across portfolio of events

2. Manage and maintain all Show websites to ensure SEO optimised and content up to date

3. Responsible for designing and building HTML emails

4. Copywriting for digital channels

* Produce all social content for events in line with brand TOV (fulfilment support from Marketing Assistant)
* Provide fortnightly content deck, ensuring all aspects of the show content are covered, including key campaign timeline/promotions and main national holidays/ featured days/topic and key trends as well as sponsor references when required
* Ensure all relevant tags, mentions and other relevant references are incorporated as part of the overall content plan Provide weekly/monthly reporting stats & feedback across allsocial channels - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube Encourage and create social interaction and engagement/conversation across all platforms
* Explore/analyse competitor social activity and latest trends/developments providing constant feedback on how channels can be improved
* Work closely with editorial and sales team to collate and push out new producer, show, recipe and talent content
* Work with talent agents to push social promotion via talent channels
* Support digital marketing agency on paid social activity – providing assets and regular contact regarding all content to best maximise all social channel activity (supported by Marketing Manager)
* Produce on site social media schedule brief for organic content ensuring it does not cross over with photography and videography plans
* Manage and execute on site social media activity in line with brief
* Provide post show social media report – organic activity
Oversee and manage social complaints appropriately


* Manage, oversee and maintain website content and creative ensuring all content and imagery is up to date, in line with brand values TOV and fully optimised
* Regularly review and ensure functioning efficiently
* Produce weekly/monthly reports on web traffic/stats
* Review web stats and improve pages based on findings
* Ensure websites are correctly represented and updated post show to keep SEO optimised


* Support Senior Marketing Manager with overall scheduling and implementation of all show email activity
* Support on copywriting, design and build emails for events in line with overall email schedule supported by Marketing Executive & Marketing Assistant & contribute ideas to improve optimisation
* Review and report on email campaign effectiveness and monitor unsub rates
* Constantly test and improve all email stats
* Manage relationship with adestra, ensuring platform functions efficiently, implement any new functionality and up to date trends.
* Work with adestra to see how we can improve campaigns and processes


* Fulfil partner activity on social, web and email
* Contribute and co-ordinate power point/prezzo presentation decks for key brands/sponsors with support from Marketing Assistant, directed by Editorial Manager
* Contribute to videography and photography on site briefs in line with marketing/promotional activity required
* Produce, collate and create monthly blog content, add to website and push out through social media channels

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies

* Previous digital marketing experience
* Competent in using social media as a marketing tool
* Experience of an email marketing tool such as MailChimp or Dotmailer
* Basic HTML skills
* Understanding of Google Analytics
* Good knowledge of SEO concepts
* Video editing skills
* Competent in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Organised with a high level of attention to detail
* Confident and creative copywriter
* Creative with excellent eye for design and layout
* Ability to work on several projects simultaneously and to time sensitive deadlines
* Ability to work with different teams at all levels as well as chefs/talent and sponsors at the show
* Proactive, inquisitive and tenacious
* Strong and confident communicator both verbal and written
