We’re looking for two talented and ambitious staff writers to join up with and super charge our newest and most exciting online brand for the future – RealHomes.com. Reporting to the Global Editor-in-Chief and working closely with the Lifestyle Editor, you will be the backbone of the editorial team – writing content from news and reviews, to buying guides, deals posts, and ‘how to’ articles – plus everything in between. It’ll be your job to provide content for anyone and everyone looking to achieve something with their home – whether it’s working out how to renovate a kitchen (or choose and install a new one), working out which garden furniture or barbecue to buy in time for the arrival of summer, or how to furnish and fit-out the perfect man cave! Your mission will be to develop content that’s tailored for people to find it via search engines or social networks, so you’re always writing for a defined audience and helping people get the advice they need, choose the products that are right for them – and to always find the best deals online. You will be a skilled (and fast) writer with first class attention to detail and the ability to juggle different tasks and initiatives at the same time. You will have a thirst for a challenge and the desire to learn new skills. You’ll be expected to manage and deliver small content projects such as a new suite of trend-based buying guides or deals articles and so top time management, organisational and communication skills are a must. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone starting out in a writing job with a desire to quickly develop the kind of digital skills that are becoming more crucial as audiences progressively move online as they shop and seek buying advice.

Writing engaging copy to tight deadlines

Keeping abreast of the latest trends so the site is always ahead of the curve
Ensuring SEO, social media and eCommerce best practises are diligently observed
Representing RealHomes.com externally at events and launches
Essential skills and experience
The ability to write high quality and engaging content
Interest in and a passion for home design trends and products
An ability to quickly learn and implement new digital skills like SEO and affiliates best practise
Some experience with writing online desired
The ability to spot a great deal or new product that would appeal to the audience
