The Role: The Subscription Marketing Manager position reports to the Head of Subscriptions Marketing within a wider team of 20 plus marketers. The role has specific objectives to increase subscriber acquisition numbers and improve subscriber retention rates. This role will focus on targeting a UK centric audience for four, market leading B2B publications. The successful candidate will create the strategy and then execute via email marketing campaigns, social media, digital (utilising an internal centralised team), work closely with the telesales team and create print/direct mailers to help drive relevant traffic to the website. This is a key hire for the business and they therefore need a B2B subscriptions expert to come in a take commercial ownership of this product portfolio.

The business has invested in marketing technology (Blueven, Sidetrade, MS Dynamics and other tools) to allow the marketing team to develop best-in-class marketing campaigns. A candidate with a mix of an analytical mind and creative eye are preferred.

Responsibilities for the position of Subscription Marketing Manager include:

  • Working with the Head of Subscription Marketing and the Subscription Marketing Manager (U.S.) to establish key KPI's and targets
  • Working with the wider subscription marketing and editorial teams
  • Own the UK subscription marketing strategy
  • Executing marketing campaigns to drive subscriber acquisition and retention
  • Utilising marketing technology (Blueven, Sidetrade, MS Dynamics) to run marketing campaigns effectively
  • Running email marketing, social media, direct mail and PPC campaigns
  • Building relationships with internal teams (sales, marketing) and external agencies

To be considered for the role of Subscription Marketing Manager you must have:

  • Solid experience working in a B2B commercial subscriptions marketing role - publishing, SaaS preferable
  • Ran email marketing campaigns from data segmentation to writing copy and analysis
  • Worked on a broad range of marketing channels - email, social, website, offline, DM, PPC
  • A positive attitude who is results driven and keen to develop
  • An ability to build relationships across all levels (peers, management)
  • A degree in marketing
