The Thunderhead team works closely with both the IT department and Marketers to ensure the delivery of personalised customer documentation for a range of AA products and services.

As a Thunderhead Developer you will be responsible for the development, testing and implementation of customer documentation templates; providing post implementation support and guidance to resolve any production faults or issues.

What will I be doing?

* Working closely with IT, Project Managers, Product Managers and Marketers through the project lifecycle to ensure that the impact of the changes on Thunderhead templates are fully understood and planned for.

* Providing estimates and high level designs for projects that require changes to the Thunderhead suite of templates.

* Adhering to team standards and processes, ensuring work flow systems are kept up to date and any slippages, risks and issues are raised to the line manager at the earliest opportunity.

* Utilising Thunderhead Business Content Studio and Business Object Studio to develop templates and Unit Test the changes.

* Facilitating User Acceptance Testing by identifying test data to satisfy test criteria.

* Identifying and running appropriate Regression Tests to ensure that the changes will not adversely impact other customer documents.

* Planning and co-ordinating the release of changes with other teams and departments.

* When required provide production support and fault resolution for all Thunderhead documents. This is generally only necessary during normal office hours but occasionally you may be expected to work out of hours to support a crucial business goal.

* Developing great relationships with business stakeholders to ensure that we work in partnership to deliver solutions and are constantly striving to identify opportunities for improvement.

* Providing support to the Senior Thunderhead Developer and taking ownership of the project implementation of small to medium developments.

What do I need?

* To be educated to A-level standard, or equivalent experience.

* Experience of policy documents or relevant commercial experience preferred.

* A minimum of 12 months’ experience of using Thunderhead NOW or Thunderhead ONE to template personalised customer documentation, including Layout Design. A working knowledge of Thunderhead Admin and Output Processor is highly desirable.

* A working knowledge of Java and Java Scripting would be advantageous.

* A proven track record in the identification and resolution of production issues and faults.

* Experience of working within a structured end to end project lifecycle, including using a work flow management tool such as Jira.

* The ability to understand complex concepts and operational processes, and articulate to both technical and non-technical audiences.

* An innovative approach; the ability to find new ways to solve problems and the desire to improve existing processes and solutions where appropriate.

* Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.

* Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative based on experience but also good teamwork.

* Able to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload effectively, identifying and mitigating project risks and issues in advance in order to consistently deliver robust solutions to time and budget.

* The ability to work effectively in partnership with other teams and departments such as IT and Project Management.
