The role of PR Account Executive is an integral part of the company. As you "learn on the job" you will play an increasingly important role in supporting and servicing existing clients and account teams, as well as helping to brainstorm, research and develop new business opportunities for the company.

Key responsibilities:

Media liaison & research; help to build the companies media network and databases, in particular to ensure that the company is up-to-speed with media changes, developments, contacts and any opportunities. Daily activities will include:

    • scanning national newspapers for relevant editorial
    • monitoring and responding to journalist enquiries such as 'Response Source' and, where appropriate distributing to colleagues
    • proactively 'selling-in' stories & blogs to online & traditional media
    • filing and distributing client coverage
    • issuing press materials and brand samples to journalists
    • managing social media platforms for the agency and clients e.g twitter, facebook, Instagram, linkedin as well as the company website

Communication skills: help to manage incoming calls to the office from clients, journalists and suppliers and develop a confident and assured phone manner, gain confidence in contacting journalists proactively to sell-in client stories, gain experience in drafting appropriate external emails (e.g. clients / journalists)

Account handling; helping the account team to implement specific client projects including time planning, research, general administration, drafting written materials and client liaison

Administrative systems & IT skills; develop and implement administrative systems and IT skills to support and help the account management of clients, PR programmes and overall business goals eg. powerpoint presentations for new business

Written skills; develop strong written skills in order to draft a range of material for clients including; patient case studies, blogs, press releases, feature articles, website copy, status and contact reports

Supporting the development of the company; understanding the overall direction of the business and have the ability and enthusiasm to help the company achieve its goals

Brainstorming; taking an active role in agency brainstorms in order to generate new ideas for client projects and PR programmes

New business research; helping to research and identify new business opportunities, preparing new business mailouts, proposal documents and if required, attending prospective meetings and pitches
