We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Web Developer to join an expanding team in Skelmersdale, working in-house on a multinational ecommerce website.





Key Responsibilities:



Web Development

  • Code improvements to the ecommerce web site using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML and CSS. Adapt to use other appropriate web technologies as needed.
  • Code improvements to the WordPress blog using PHP.
  • Improve UX, ecommerce functionality and customer journey.
  • Build and run MVT tests and personalised customer journeys.
  • Deploy seasonal promotional content to the site.
  • Triage web site issues and work with 3rd parties to deliver high quality resolutions.
  • Take ownership of ecommerce change requests and ensure efficient and high quality solutions are delivered either internally or by 3rd parties.


Relationship Management

  • Work closely with other internal web developers, 3rd party technical partners, as well as other related teams to deliver a high quality online customer experience and to portray a successful cohesive brand identity.
  • Development skills and principles in multiple programming languages.

Education / Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential
  • Confident in leading on technical decisions
  • Educated to Degree level in a Software Development, IT or online related discipline.
  • Proficient coding HTML, CSS, jQuery and JavaScript.
  • Excellent problem solving and technical skills.
  • Detail and quality focussed.
  • Confident managing a varied workload.
  • Capable of building productive and positive relationships both internally and externally
  • Highly IT literate and confident using technology to provide solutions.
  • Confident as a technical escalation point.

Desirable
  • Experience in an ecommerce or other commercial environment.
  • Experience using tag management.
  • Page load performance optimisation.
  • Experience integrating 3rd party solutions into an ecommerce platform.
  • Experience using Jira and an Agile development methodology.
